Water is Thicker Than Blood

On the planet who's surface is 75% comprised of it, a monied society aware of property rights, has turned it's avaricious eye toward it and one Street firm, the Bechtel Corporation has already drawn blood for water. This is the first part of a documentary that the main stream US media deem not news worthy.

the Cochabamba protests of 2000 brought on by the privatization of Bolivia's municipal water supply by the Bechtel Corporation. Up to one-quarter of the citizen's income had to go to pay for their water after the takeover and the collection of rainwater was made illegal. This did not sit well with Oscar Olivera and the rest of the Bolivian people so they started a massive riot to gain control of their water back. Six people died and 175 were injured but an agreement was eventually reached were Cochabamba regained full rights of its public water.
There is a true moral hazrad here. So, long as I have no control over any part of the process, should I invest or not. Wouldn't you have loved to jumped into Boeing in 2001; yup, is it blood money? Dum question, but is money invested in Bechtel Corporation blood money; you betcha! Well then how about an ETF, the company doesn't really prospre from the cash you put it does it; yup again, the ETF has to buy shares. Well I never have bought a defense or pharamachutical, but we may go after this water ETF, PHO.

PowerShares Water Resources Portfolio (the Fund) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of the equity index, the Palisades Water Index (the Index). The Index seeks to identify a group of companies that focus on the provision of potable water, the treatment of water, and the technology and services that are directly related to water consumption. The Index includes United States exchange traded companies drawn from water sectors, such as water utilities, treatment, analytical, infrastructure, water resource management and multi business.
Keep in mind that you and I, retail investors cannot influence the outcome weather you buyor sell Boeing, Bechtel or PHO, it sure is fun to make a killing shorting them though.
